CHENNAI: All state government buildings will soon start generating power, once planned rooftop solar systems are installed. An agreement to facilitate this was signed here on Thursday between Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) & Energy Efficiency Services Limited. As per the agreement TEDA & EESL will act as nodal agencies in establishing solar power generating facilities on top of government buildings.
While EESL will take care of the investments, the move will reduce power bills of government departments. Tangedco chairman and TEDA chief vikaram kapur and EESL director Venkatesh Dwivedi signed the agreement.
